BISANZIO VASE
information
Part of to the Mitti collection, which means “earth” in the Hindi, the Bisanzio vase searches for a connection between the city of Ravenna, emblem of the Byzantine empire's artistic pageantry as well as Chiara Ravaioli's homeland, and India, a land where the designer has immersed herself for a long journey.
The color of the vase ties in with the green marble or deep blue that invades the basilica of San Vitale, the heart of Ravenna's mosaic art. Byzantium's elegant forms echo those of India's curvilinear temples, creating a microarchitecture that constantly comes to life, builds and changes in contact with natural light. Each piece is slowly crafted with machinery and hands, silently negotiating two contradictory elements, such as stoneware and 3D printing.
The Vase is transparently glazed on the inside for water-repellent qualities and left raw on the outside to preserve the textile touch.
Each item is unique. Please note shape may vary.
